The “Star Dream Legend, You Complete Us” charity fundraising event, jointly organized by “Million Heart Charity Service” and “From Vegas to Macau,” was successfully held on the 3rd floor of Hall 2 of the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center on December 11, 2021. Five hundred and fifty volunteers began folding lucky stars at 1:35 pm and after 5 hours and 6 minutes, they had folded 50,244 lucky stars that were strictly authenticated. This broke the world record of 44,136 “most paper-folded lucky stars exhibited in the world” set by the Achimura district of Shimoina in Nagano, Japan on March 21, 2021. The event created a legendary moment for Hong Kong, lifted the spirits of Hong Kong people, and added a beautiful color of love and joy to Hong Kong.
Through breaking the world record of folding lucky stars, this event spread love and appreciation from Hong Kong to the world and praised medical staff and anti-epidemic heroes from all walks of life. It also raised funds to support vulnerable communities. The beneficiaries were Yan Chai Hospital and the Good Morning Foundation. As of today, a total of HKD 1 million has been raised.
